Personnel Disciplinary Board

Under Chapter 1 Section 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2007:1337), the Board of Governors may establish such a Personnel Disciplinary Board at the university as outlined in Section 25 of the Government Agencies and Institutes Ordinance (SFS 2007:515).

The Vice-Chancellor shall chair the Disciplinary Board, which shall otherwise comprise personnel representatives and a maximum of another three members to be appointed by the Board of Governors.

On October 20, 2000, the Board of Governors decided that the university should have a Personnel Disciplinary Board. The Disciplinary Board’s composition was most recently set by the Board of Governors on June 13, 2008.

The Personnel Disciplinary Board handles matters regarding termination of employment due to personal circumstances for non-probationary positions, as well as matters regarding disciplinary liability, notification of prosecution and suspension.

When a matter is initiated by a student or otherwise concerns students, the Students’ Union shall be heard prior to the Personnel Disciplinary Board making a decision.
