The Government has appointed Paul Pettersson as Vice-Chancellor of MDH

Today the Government has taken the decision to appoint Paul Pettersson as Vice-Chancellor of Mälardalen University from 6 October 2016 to 5 October 2022 inclusive.

- I am happy and proud to become the Vice-Chancellor of Mälardalen University. MDH has world-class research, and degree programmes in Economics, Health, Engineering and Education, where we can see that our students contribute towards strengthening competitiveness in companies and solving challenges in society, says Paul Pettersson.

Paul Pettersson has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Uppsala University and he defended his thesis in Computer Engineering at the same university in 1999. He was admitted as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Uppsala University in 2006. In the same year he became Professor of Real-time Systems with specialisation in Modelling and Verification at MDH.

During his time at MDH Paul has established two research teams and he was for several years head of the Division of Embedded Systems. Since 2012 he has been Pro-Vice-Chancellor, and since January Acting Vice-Chancellor.

Paul was born and bred in Linköping and today he lives with his family in Stockholm.
